
		Janet Genter Community Nursery (within the Little Stars Children's Centre) Our Surroundings The Janet Genter Community Nursery is an inspiring place for children to play and develop. The setting is split into threee rooms based on age group to ensure all children recieve the best quality care. All of our rooms have access to a large and fun garden area with play equipment. We have recently invested £27,000 in new equipment and furniture for our children to enjoy. Our rooms offer: 15 places for 0-2 year olds. 20 places for 2-3 year olds. 16 places for 3-5 year olds. Monday-Friday, 7.30am – 6.30pm Our Inspiration The Janet Genter Community Nursery was the first project run by Child Dynamix and opened in June 2001. The nursery sits within the Little Stars Children's Centre building on Preston Road. Janet Genter was a local woman who campaigned for childcare on the Preston Road Estate in Hull, her work and that of others locally led to the successful bid to New Deal for Communities to develop childcare on the Estate. Janet's family agreed to us using her name for our nursery provision when she lost her battle to cancer in 2000. We are grateful to the family and believe passionately in taking forward the work that Janet did to ensure that the quality of life on the Estate was improved for all who live there. This community nursery moved to new premises in March 2004 becoming part of a Children's Centre for local families. The nursery has built a solid reputation for good quality childcare, and is a thriving part of the regeneration of the Preston Road Estate. We are proud of our history.
